Zomato CEO Re-Shares Photo Of Specially Abled Delivery Agent And It Is Winning Hearts
In 2023, Zomato partnered with NeoMotion, an equipment manufacturer that creates mobility products for people with disabilities.

A photo of a specially-abled Zomato delivery agent is getting much attention on X (Formerly Twitter). The photo demonstrates the willpower to do difficult jobs. The food delivery agent is using a NeoMotion electric vehicle that allows him to deliver the orders. This picture was posted online by an X user Naraayan Kannan who praised food delivery service company Zomato and CEO Deepinder Goyal for hiring people with special needs in their company. While sharing the inspiring photo, Kannan wrote, “More of this please. Best thing I’ve seen in a very long time from your company. Despite the errant drivers who have made life hell on the roads this is a special moment. This is as inclusive as it gets. His story is fascinating. Bravo!”

Commenting on this post, an X user mentioned, “This is brilliant. zomato with their platform & policies being diverse & inclusive. And also a huge shoutout to Neomotion for building sustainable inclusive tech that lets convert a wheelchair to an EV. Kudos to Swostik Sourav & Deepinder Goyal.”

Another wrote, “It indeed is a delight to watch this picture. The concept is absolutely brilliant, empowering & positive. Make sure to give this the care & respect it demands. Make it more & more possible Sir. I am proud of you for this.”

Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal also reposted this photo. Last year in August, Goyal announced that Zomato partnered with NeoMotion, a medical equipment manufacturer that creates mobility products for people with disabilities. He shared pictures from the ‘onboarding drive in Chennai’ and wrote, “Proud to mention that zomato is now 160+ differently-abled delivery partners strong who have delivered ~39,000 orders. Our target – onboard 300 partners by Dec ’23.”

In another post, he asserted, “Each of these special delivery vehicles is customised as per the needs of the delivery partner. This ensures high comfort, mobility and manoeuvrability for the partner. Also, the vehicles are electric and hence environment friendly.”

Back in 2019, a video went viral that showed a Zomato employee, named Ramu, using a hand-powered tricycle to deliver food. Goyal took note of this video and reached out to Ramu. Zomato gave him an electric vehicle.

In an X post, Goyal wrote, “Our delivery partner Ramu Sahu has gracefully accepted the electric vehicle that we were keen on him having.” In another post he wrote, “We are grateful that he is a part of our Delivery Universe.
