Woman Finds The Perfect Solution To Keep Family Members Away From Smartphones

Are you addicted to your mobile phone? So is most of the world. In a digital age where many of us spend much of our lives in front of screens and our fascination with smartphones has grown into a full-blown addiction, a woman named Manju Gupta has come up with an incredibly unique solution. The woman, who was quite annoyed by her family’s obsession with their smartphones, found the perfect way to keep them away from the screens. Manju Gupta made a no-phone-use agreement on appropriate phone usage and asked every family member to sign it. Isn’t it quite a unique idea? But hold on to your horses, the story doesn’t end here.

Manju also made a clause in the agreement that whoever fails to abide by the three rules would be debarred from ordering food online from food apps like Swiggy or Zomato for not one or two days but for the whole month. Looks like the family is a food enthusiast too.

Sharing a picture of the agreement on X (formerly Twitter), Manju Gupta’s niece wrote, “My maasi made everyone in the house sign this agreement (along with a weeping emoji).”

Needless to say, internet users were amused to see the agreement written on a non-judicial stamp paper. The phone-usage agreement laid out three rules:

1. Everyone in the family should worship the sun instead of their phones as soon as they wake up in the morning.

2. Everyone has to eat together at the dining table. During family dinner, all phones must be kept 20 steps away from the dining table.

3. Everyone will keep their phones out while going to the bathroom so that they don’t waste time watching Instagram reels.

The agreement written in Hindi was signed by all four members of the Gupta family. It further continued, “The decision has not been taken in anger. Yesterday when my kids showed me ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ on Netflix, I realised that my kids have gone crazy for likes.”

In no time, the picture of the agreement took the social media by storm pulling over 3,68,000 views and more than 4,600 likes. Taking to the comment section, people shared their take on the agreement. While many were amused by the agreement and flooded the comment section with rib-tickling memes, others raised questions about the authenticity of the post.

“There is one mistake in the agreement. The Agreement doesn’t mention Date. So, in absence of a date of agreement this agreement becomes null and void. Also, there is no legal validity as it doesn’t mention who will take authority for the implementation of the said punishment,” an X user asserted.

Sharing a funny video, an account wrote, “Manju aunty ke bachhe after listening to the new house rules.”

An account remarked, “Nothing just Manju maasi being the Bigg boss of the house.”
