Ustad Zakir Hussain, a renowned Indian tabla player has captivated the attention of social media users with his latest viral video. The snippet from one of his recent performances demonstrated his exceptional skill. The clip surfaced online after a fan posted it on her social media handle. The social media buffs were in awe of the performance and struggled to find the right words to express their astonishment at the mesmerising show.

In the video, Zakir Hussain expertly played Lord Shiva’s Damru on the tabla, echoing the beautiful melody of Ganas’ Shankhnaad. The user who posted the footage mentioned in the caption, “Ustaad Zakir Hussain plays Mahadev’s Damru and subsequently produces the sound of Shankhnaad of Ganas, both on Tabla. The video has sparked considerable admiration among online users, and the clip has garnered over 68,000 views so far.

Zakir Hussain’s talent was commemorated globally at the Grammy this year. Zakir Hussain and Shankar Mahadevan band Shakti bagged the Best Global Music Album award for ‘This Moment’. The album This Moment was published in June of last year. The CD featured eight songs by John McLaughlin, Zakir Khan, Shankar Mahadevan, V Selvaganesh, and Ganesh Rajagopalan.

Meanwhile, Zakir Hussain received a Grammy in the Best Global Music Performance category for his work, Pashto with Bela Fleck and Edgar Meyer, featuring Rakesh Chaurasia.
