A girls holiday for a woman hailing from Liverpool, England, named Stephanie Hanson turned out life-changing. It gave her the time to give second thought to her marriage. According to a report published in The Mirror, the woman named Stephanie realised that she was not happy with her husband. Post the trip, she told her husband that she didn’t have the desire to be with him any longer. Stephanie, who is the mother of four children, celebrated her 40th birthday joyfully in Kefalonia, Greece in May 2022. While living in a carefree manner with her two friends during the trip, Stephanie had a sudden realisation about her marriage. She was relaxing by the pool when she finally decided to end her marriage.
As per the report, Stephanie missed her kids intensely on the trip, but she didn’t have the same thoughts for her husband. Added to that, the 40-year-old woman also realised just how unhappy she was with herself. Weighing 17st (107.955 Kgs) and in the ‘worst shape of her life’, Stephanie said she was determined to get healthy and begin a new phase of her life. She told The Mirror, “I had a moment of clarity at the hotel that I’d been miserable in my marriage for as long as I could remember. So when I flew back, I ended it there and then – and I knew I’d made the right decision when I saw his reaction.”
After leaving the marriage, Stephanie has made health her foremost priority. She has begun exercising at home using a hula hoop (a large plastic ring that you spin around your waist by moving your hips) and drastically changed her diet. The 40-year-old woman has swapped chocolate, take-away meals, and cream and butter-based dishes for lean meat, fish, salad, and soup. Not only the changes in her diet, Stephanie has also incorporated running into her fitness regime. Gradually, she started to shed the weight she’d been carrying for a decade. Stephanie, who works as a phlebotomist, said: “After leaving my ex-husband, the next thing I needed to do was lose weight.” A phlebotomist is a medical professional who’s trained to collect blood for testing or donation.
