Absolutely nothing seems to halt the downward spiral of food quality from outside sources. Each passing day brings forth tales of cockroaches, worms, and other unsavoury surprises lurking in our meals, creating a horror no one wished to entertain. Yet, grim reality stares us in the face! Recently, a woman took Zomato to task after stumbling upon a lifeless cockroach nestled within her online-ordered Japanese bowl.

Turning to ‘X’, Sonai Acharya, hailing from Tripura’s capital, Agartala, unveiled snapshots of a deceased cockroach discovered amidst the contents of a ramen bowl procured from Auntie Fug’s eatery. Terming it a ‘horrific ordeal’, Acharya lamented, “Ordered Japanese miso ramen chicken from Auntie Fug’s and found a cockroach in my meal! Absolutely unacceptable and disgusting Seriously disappointed with the quality control here. @Zomato is beyond gross.#ZomatoNightmare”

Accompanying the narrative was an image portraying a lifeless critter amidst an otherwise appetising meal for Acharya. Additionally, she attached a screenshot of her order, revealing that the food delivery company had initiated a refund of Rs 320 for the order.

Zomato promptly acknowledged the post, responding, “Hi there, we are sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident. We want to help turn this experience around. Please allow us some time to look into (it), we’ll get back to you ASAP.”

In an earlier incident, a passenger travelling from Madhya Pradesh aboard the Rewa Vande Bharat Express (20173) from Rani Kamlapati (RKMP) to Jabalpur Junction (JBP) on February 1, 2024, made a shocking discovery. Turning to ‘X’ to voice his complaint, @iamdrkeshari shared images revealing the presence of a ‘dead cockroach’ within the non-vegetarian thali served as part of his booked meal. Labelling the experience as nothing short of traumatic, the original poster supplemented his post with an image of the complaint form promptly filled out at Jabalpur station, detailing the contamination incident and providing pertinent personal information.
