Passenger in Sleeper Coach Gets Rid of Ticketless People On Mumbai Mail, Reddit Calls Him a Hero

But this time, one passenger decided to take matters into their own hands, showing the ticketless travellers the right path—off the train. The Redditor shared their story, highlighting their efforts to correct long-standing wrongs.

Posting on the ‘Indian Railways’ subreddit, user @yodebu recounted their journey on the Mumbai Mail (12810) from Howrah to Kharagpur when they encountered ticketless passengers. “Reserved a sleeper ticket, and I boarded the train. I was chilling at my side lower. Puri family aati h. Ek charger dalta h. Maine pehle bola, hato. For ticket pucha to bolte express ki ticket h, ladies h..” That was the last straw for the OP, who then ensured the entire family deboarded before the train departed. “A couple came next. Kicked them off too.”

But the OP’s mission didn’t end there. They reported the incident to Rail Madad and left negative feedback before preparing to disembark at Kharagpur station. “Kgp (Kharagpur) ghuste hi whole bunch of TTEs came into the compartment and deboarded the ticketless passengers and fined them heavily. Even that couple was fined as well,” they concluded, reflecting, “It was a good day making small things right which have been way too wrong for some time now.”
