A video is currently going viral, which shows a new dish called Pitai Paratha.The famous dish seems like a new competitor in the market. The video was posted by a food vlogger from his Instagram account. Seeing his profile, it can be understood that the man is very famous for posting numerous varieties of famous street food items, in his social media account. In a similar way, he posted a video of a street vendor who is making a famous dish called Pitai Paratha, which is a very common dish in West Bengal; it is served with potato curry or dried yellow peas. Pitai refers to beating, and is a Bengali word. As the name suggests, the paratha here is beaten up to make the dish.

In the video, the street vendor first takes a thick triangular shaped paratha. After a while, the street vendor is seen brutally thrashing the paratha. Later, he flips it and then breaks it with a strong blow. The Paratha later is beaten up and is crumbled into pieces. Finally, he serves the scrambled paratha with egg curry and dried yellow peas.

The video which was posted with the caption, “Kolkata Famous Pitai Paratha” garnered 77.7 million views and a total number of 74,7000 likes.
