The heightened focus on health and hygiene during the pandemic has persisted, with many still adhering to the habit of regularly sanitizing their hands. Even today, many are seen carrying a bottle of hand sanitiser while going to the office or for a casual outing. But have you ever wondered how these sanitisers are made? Most of us are aware of the fact that sanitisers contain alcohol and have certain properties that help disinfect when applied to hands.

However, now a video is going viral from a factory setup showing how sanitiser is prepared in bulk quantities. Shared on the Instagram page of UNILAD, the video shows alcohol being processed in a large automated machine. A small amount of aqueous dispersion of carbomers is mixed with the alcohol, which thickens the mixture and turns it into a gel.

After completing the processing, the gel is bottled and ready to use.

“A very clean process,” the video’s caption read. Meanwhile, social media users also wasted no time sharing their reactions to the video. A user hilariously wrote, “I’m pretty sure they were using tequila during COVID!” while another one commented, “Once bottled ready to use. No shit Sherlock!”

A user wrote, “Should have suggested this during First wave of covid pandemic.”

The video has gained over 5 lakh views, followed by more than 6,000 likes on Instagram. It has also amassed several comments, drawing reactions from users.

There are many other viral videos from factories showing the mass production of items ranging from edible items to daily essentials. Recently, a video from a bread-making factory went viral that showed how daily staple items are being produced in larger quantities. However, the video didn’t go well with social media users, as many found the video quite “unhygienic.”

In the video, a man can be seen mixing flour, sugar, salt, and other ingredients in a container and transferring it to a machine to prepare the dough. Once the dough is ready, it is put in moulds, and the bread is finally baked. However, the workers engaging in the task without gloves or safety equipment became the talking point of the video.
