Did Navya Naveli Nanda Crack CAT For IIM Ahmedabad? Professor Reveals Details

Navya Naveli Nanda, granddaughter of Amitabh Bachchan and daughter of Shweta Bachchan, is making headlines for enrolling in a Blended Post Graduate Programme for an MBA at the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Ahmedabad. Her announcement on social media quickly sparked a wave of reactions, with social media users questioning whether she gained admission through a quota or if she actually cracked the CAT exam. Amid the ongoing debate and buzz surrounding Navya’s new academic journey, one particular post has been making the rounds on social media, capturing even more attention.

The post shared by the IIM Ahmedabad professor Promila Agarwal on X reads, “She got solid CV btw (by the way). You don’t necessarily need CAT. Irrespective, hats off to everyone for being courageous enough to sign up for rigorous program. PS: Just like other students, looking forward to her posts cribbing abt the hard life at IIM-A.”

Upon being shared, the post was flooded with comments and questions with one of the users asking, “Is she management or NRI quota equivalent admission then?”

The professor was quick enough to respond to the user as she wrote, “Don’t insult IIMA by assuming that we have any quota for any program, cut off & interview for this one.” In a follow-up comment, she added, “CAT/IAT/GMAT.”

At 26, Navya Naveli Nanda is set to embark on a Blended Post Graduate Programme (BPGP), a two-year course at IIM Ahmedabad. She already holds a Bachelor’s degree in Digital Technology and UX Design from Fordham University in the USA. In addition to her academic pursuits, Navya is a social entrepreneur, running an NGO called Project Naveli, and she also plays an active role in her father’s business.

Amidst the skepticism surrounding her admission, Navya Naveli Nanda took to Instagram Stories to share a celebratory moment. The image shows her marking the milestone of joining IIM, with a heartfelt tribute to her teacher. She captioned the post, “This is Prasad sir…who played the biggest hand in coaching and preparing me to crack the CAT/IAT entrance exams…One of the BEST teachers I have ever had the honour of learning from.”
