Delhi Man Catches Drunk Tempo Driver Who Fled After Hitting Scooty, Then This Happened

A Reddit user recently took to the platform to narrate his dramatic encounter with a reckless tempo driver who hit a scooty and then tried to flee the scene. Sharing his story on the ‘Delhi’ subreddit, the user recounted how he was driving at around 50-60 km/h on Mahatma Gandhi Road when a speeding tempo suddenly overtook him and the scooty ahead.

“This guy overtook both me and the scooty rider from the left side, causing his tempo to become unbalanced. His tempo became so unstable that the back of the vehicle spun around completely,” he shared, describing the chaos that followed as he and the scooty rider struggled to regain control. “However, the scooty rider was hit from the front by the back of the tempo. I applied the handbrake, but the vehicle behind me hit my car from behind. Initially, I didn’t react due to the shock.”

Instead of stopping to help, the tempo driver attempted to escape. “Then this guy suddenly started his tempo and tried to run away. The scooty rider was bleeding heavily. A driver who hit my car from behind put the scooty rider in his car and took him to the hospital while I chased the tempo.” The chase continued until Kashmiri Gate, where a traffic jam allowed him to catch up.

“I got out of my car and immediately took the keys from his tempo. Thankfully, a policeman was there who came to us. I told him the whole story. The driver was so drunk that he couldn’t even say his name properly,” he detailed. The police promptly registered a case against the driver.
