Bride Gets Emotional During 'Dehli Pooja' Before Her Vidai, Video Goes Viral
A touching video of a bride's 'Dehli Pooja' ceremony before her vidai ceremony goes viral. The video will surely make you cry.

Weddings serve as a joyous celebration of love. Vidai is perhaps the most melancholic part of any wedding. The bride leaving her parents’ home and going to her husband and in-laws’ home can make the toughest people cry. Recently, an emotional video of a bride’s ‘Dehli pooja’ ceremony before her vidai ceremony has grabbed the attention of the viewers. This touching video will surely make you cry.

The now-viral video opens to show a woman in a red kurta set standing outside her home. She can be seen performing rituals of ‘Dehli pooja’. The bride can be seen breaking down in tears and hugging her parents and family. The whole family can be seen getting emotional. The video was shared on Instagram by @bhavikajoshi._. The clip featured an overlay text that reads, “You are leaving behind your home: the place that holds your entire childhood.” The user shared a long note in the caption while describing about the ritual of ‘Dehli pooja’ and her thoughts. She wrote, “Staying away from home for six long years, I thought it wouldn’t affect me much at my vidai or the wedding. But oh dear lord, every second killed me inside, knowing I was going to leave the most important people in my life behind.” The bride added, “Before the vidai, there’s a tradition in our culture where the bride goes to her house for one last time and performs the dehli pooja to wish the best for her home. This ritual is meant to ensure that whatever energy belongs to this house stays there while wishing all the abundance and happiness for the home.”

She stated, “I broke down during that pooja! Can you even imagine looking back at your house for “one last time”? It was overwhelming! Believe me or not, there hasn’t been a single day after the wedding that I haven’t missed my family, my house, or my room. Vidai and all just seem easy until you have to do it and find yourself in that position. It’s worse than anything you can imagine.” She wished the best to her home and family and wrote, “No matter where in the world I am, I obviously wish the best for my house, my home, my family, and even my town. But I just wish I could go back in time one last time to relive every second of my childhood spent there.”

The bride concluded her post with a message for the other brides stating, “I may not be anyone special to you; I might just be another person you follow. But to all the brides-to-be and girls out there: live every second fully at your house, with your parents, as much as you can. Trust me, as soon as the vidai hits you, you’ll regret not spending enough time with them. Love them, be there for them. They made you capable and strong enough to leave one house and build another. Embrace every moment, and carry their love and lessons with you as you step into your new life.”

Netizens flooded the comments section with their thoughts and love for the bride. “Every girl can relate to this. No doubt writing this with teary eyes” expressed a user with a heart emoticon. “Watching you with blurry eyes in all these moments, I can’t even imagine how difficult it must have been for you. It doesn’t matter if it was your last pooja there, it will always be ‘muskan ka ghr’ for the people I know,” shared another user. “And then the house is never the same again,” added a third. “My eyes became teary watching this video,” wrote a fourth.
