THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An exhibition of vintage cars from collectors in south Kerala will be a major attraction at the Auto Expo to be inaugurated on Tuesday at Santhigiri Fest 2012. Vintage models like a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air, 1939 Chevrolet Master Deluxe, 1947 Ford Super Deluxe, 1961 Volkswagen Beetle will be the attraction of the pavilion.Minister for Energy and Transportation, Minister Aryadan Mohammed will inaugurate the Auto Expo at Santhigiri Fest 2012. The expo will have sales and exhibition of auto mobiles from all major manufacturers. Help desks of banks providing vehicle loans will also function at the venue. N S Vijayakumar, who is a KSRTC driver, has brought his private collection of 13 cars and a 1963-model 350cc Ariel motorcycle. His prized collection includes a 1964 Dodge Polara, previously owned by film actor Jose Prakash, and a 1924 Austin 7. Over the years, he has had to dig wells and build roads on contract to finance his unique passion. The Austin 7 in his collection has the distinction of being the oldest running vintage car in Kerala.
