Kaun Banega Crorepati is undoubtedly one of the most popular reality shows on Indian television. The quiz show, hosted by legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, is famous among viewers for the way it imparts knowledge while also giving them an entertaining show to watch with their families. The latest season began on August 14 and in the recent episode, the host recounted his experience of asking the doctor to perform an MRI of his brain and inspect it. Amitabh Bachchan narrated this incident as a contestant, Jaitoon, who was seated on the hot seat, answered a question about woodpeckers.

In the latest episode, as the contestant Jaitoon won Rs 5000 after answering a question about the Woodpecker bird, Amitabh Bachchan noted, “Woodpecker has got a very sharp beak, and they keep hitting. Many people think that the bird hits with so much force that his brain hurts. Well, behind his head, it’s completely hollow; hence, the pressure vanishes from there.” The megastar narrated that since he often gets sick, he has to visit the doctor, where he spots a round-shaped machine, referring to an MRI machine. They take the patients there, and lie them down. It then oscillates from left to right to assess the body. Amitabh said, “It searches if there is any problem in your body. Once, I told my doctors to check my brain too as I thought I had nothing in my brain. There was a nurse who jokingly said to me, ‘Sir what you were saying is absolutely correct, your brain is completely empty’.”

In one of the previous episodes, Amitabh Bachchan recalled an anecdote behind the iconic track sung by him, Mere Angne Mein. He stated, “This song is from the film Laawaris in which I acted. There’s a story behind this song. You see, this is a folk song and it is played in villages. We’ve been listening to it since we were kids. My father used to play the drum and sing this song on Holi. This film was made by director Prakash Mehra. He made Zanjeer and many others.”

Kaun Banega Crorepati 15 airs on Sony TV Monday through Friday at 9 p.m. In terms of format, the show has undergone some modifications this season. There’s a new feature called Super Sandook, which helps candidates recover some amount they lost during the game.
