A social media troll can have impacts beyond what people can fathom. The most recent case in point is the ongoing clash between YouTubers Elvish Yadav and Sagar Thakur, aka Maxtern. A video of Elvish has surfaced that shows him approaching Sagar, escorted by his friends. Elvish begins by slapping and kicking Sagar before viciously beating him. The latter has officially lodged a complaint, but the incident has shocked many online users, especially other content creators, YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani has responded to the current scandal and called it the “darkest day” for Indian creators.
Ashish Chanchlani wrote on X, “Jo haal chaal chal rahe youtube ke, Ab toh ye field chodhne ka hi mann karta hai. Yesterday was the darkest day for Youtube India. This was unnecessary and could have been avoided. (I feel like quitting the field after witnessing the current situation. Yesterday was the darkest day for Youtube India. This was unnecessary and could have been avoided).”

It all started when Sagar Thakur passed a comment on Elvish Yadav’s bond with Munawar Faruqui. In a video message to his followers, Sagar Thakur alleged that he was threatened by Elvish Yadav following the comment. He claimed, “Bhaisaab, jaan se maarne ki dhamki de gaye hain. Main toh akela tha. Elvish bhai saath mein bahut saare bande laaye the. Toh iske main full video subah daaltu hu acche se. Sab dekhna kya hua. Hamare pass bhi recording hai. Main toh theek hu bas yahan (lip) par chot aaye hai. Yeh bhi 8 logo se ladne ke baad aaye hai. (He threatened to kill me. I was alone, Elvish was accompanied by many people. I will post a video of the same tomorrow morning. Everyone will see what happened. I am okay but suffered lip injury that too after fighting 8 people).”
