WhatsApp Users Will Soon Have A New Way Of Seeing Other People Type: What It Means
WhatsApp will soon bring the typing icon into the chat screen for Android users which is being tested in the beta version

WhatsApp is making another big change to the chat experience for users and we will be seeing the new feature coming to everyone soon. The messaging app has allowed you to see the chat status with the other person typing at the top of the chat bar but soon that could be overhauled and made similar to most message apps in the market.

New Typing Indicator On WhatsApp: How it Looks

The new feature is being tested with the WhatsApp Android 2.24.21.18 version, giving us a preview of how the new-look typing indicator changes the dynamics of the messaging app after a long time. We have got access to the feature through the beta version recently and it feels a big change for the messaging app but something that felt inevitable.

For the longest time, WhatsApp users have seen the ‘Typing’ icon right below the display picture of the person they are chatting with. The text would move based on when the person is typing and then show Online status.

The new WhatsApp typing indicator comes in the form of a bubble within the chat window on the right side of the screen. You will see three dots move as the person is typing before the message reaches your feed. WhatsApp has been working on many features lately, but moving the typing indicator into the chat window will be one of its biggest UI overhauls in years.

WhatsApp is yet to reveal a clear timeline for the public release of this feature but we see it happening soon. The other features WhatsApp has gone official with this week looks at the new features for video calls like AR filters and background option to keep your surroundings hidden just like how it works on Google meet and Zoom.
