Realme has officially confirmed its plans to have 320W charging tech powered for smartphones in the future. The brand has not said which phones will get the feature but the thought of a battery getting charged from 0 to 100 percent in around 4 minutes sure does sound worrying and exciting in equal measure.
Fast charging tech has gone bonkers over the past few years, with Realme and Xiaomi going head to head and showing how fast the technology can become. Realme has previously launched its GT series phone with 240W charging support, while Redmi showcased its 300W technology that it has yet to launch with a device. Realme’s big reveal this week suggests the technology is ready to be unleashed in the near future.
Realme 320W Charging Feature – How It Works
Realme has used its existing 240W charging unit and bumped up its power to support 320W charging speed and did so without increasing the size of the adapter. The charger from Realme has two USB-C ports that can support up to 150W charging speed for a Realme phone, while the other port can be used to charge at 65W for laptops and other gadgets.
Realme’s demo video showcases them charging a phone with 4,420mAh battery using the 320W adapter and they got it fully tanked up in four minutes and 30 seconds which easily beats the current charging figures. Xiaomi’s 300W charging tech took around 5 minutes to charge the device with a 4,100mAh battery.
Fast Charging Phones Going Crazy But How Safe?
We have often heard about concerns regarding fast charge tech for phones and figures like 320W do little to alleviate those fears. But over the years we have seen brands like OnePlus, Realme and Oppo among others support faster charging speeds and do it without causing major issues or incidents that can dither buyers from getting them.
