OpenAI unveiled its new ChatGPT 4o chatbot in front of the world on Monday and most people were amazed with how far the AI tech has come in one year. However, one person isn’t impressed by its advancement and that is none other than Elon Musk. Musk and OpenAI have a long history, and not a pleasant one.
So for Musk to not be impressed with ChatGPT 4o is hardly surprising. He was replying with his opinion to one of the users on X this week, which said, “Humans can now let AI perceive reality in real time for them. We may have just replaced the post-truth era with something much worse.” Musk replied to this post on the platform saying, “demo made me cringe.”

The Tesla and X owner has invested interest in the AI arena with another company he owns called XAI which offers the Grok AI chatbot for X Premium users.
OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman has said that Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk thought that the ChatGPT-maker company would fail and “he chose to part ways”. So, you can imagine the animosity between the two, especially for Musk to have these feelings about OpenAI.
OpenAI said Musk wanted the company to merge with electric vehicle maker Tesla, and he forwarded an email that said the startup should “attach to Tesla as its cash cow”.
Elon Musk has publicly addressed his legal conflict with OpenAI earlier, and in response, the organisation had published a blog post revealing specifics about Musk’s wish to exert full control over the company and his ambition to assume the role of CEO.
Musk, a former board member of OpenAI who resigned in 2018, has filed a lawsuit against the organisation and its CEO, Sam Altman, citing an alleged breach of their original contractual agreements related to artificial intelligence. Musk even wanted to file a lawsuit against the company, demanding OpenAI to change its name to ClosedAI.
