Vasundhara Raje cancels visit to investor meet in London amidst Lalit Modi row
She had earlier cancelled her trip to Anandpur Sahib in Punjab where she was expected to share the stage with BJP President Amit Shah and Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

Jaipur: Under fire for her ties with former Indian Premier League chief Lalit Modi, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has cancelled her trip to London. She has cited a NITI AAYOG meeting on 27 June and 28 June as reason for cancelling the London tour. Raje was to meet investors in London for the Resurgent Rajasthan event that is scheduled later in 2015.

Earlier in June, Lalit Modi's lawyers released documents claiming that Raje backed Modi's immigration plea in 2011 on the condition of anonymity. Modi also invested more than Rs 11 crores in a company flouted by Raje's son Dushyant Singh.

She had earlier cancelled her trip to Anandpur Sahib in Punjab where she was expected to share the stage with BJP President Amit Shah and Home Minister Rajnath Singh. The cancellation was being seen as a sign of growing isolation in the party ranks for Raje

According to sources, Raje was expected to explain her side of the story to Shah and Rajnath over allegations of her supporting former Indian Premeir League chief Lalit Modi's immigration plea in 2011.

Vasundhara came in line of fire as documents released by Modi's legal team alleged that she helped the cricket czar to get permit to stay in the United Kingdom. The documents said Vasundhara allegedly filed application backing Modi in 2011 when she was the leader of the opposition in the state Assembly.

The documents released by Modi's team revealing Vasundhara's role said that the testimony is conditional and it will not be known to Indian authorities.
