New Delhi: There was high drama in the Rajya Sabha on Friday with outrage over TDP MP Murli Mohan Maganti's sexist comments. On Thursday, during a debate on atrocities against women in Lok Sabha, Maganti said that women should dress in a dignified manner.
Maganti went on to say that women must uphold Indian traditions. After being slammed for his remarks, Maganti later apologised and said that he never intended to hurt anyone.
"All the women MPs in the Rajya Sabha are very upset with the comment of the TDP MP. They all stood up in the House and there was uproar on the issue after which the House was adjourned for 15 minutes," said Congress leader Rajiv Shukla.
