Hyderabad: Calling North Indian as "elite" and "snobbish", Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan has once again attacked the BJP central leadership for ignoring southern states and its people. Popularly known as power star, Pawan Kalyan has appealed to all the political parties in the south to come under a common platform, leaving aside their political differences, to fight the biased attitude of "north Indian leadership".

In a series of tweets, Pawan Kalyan said, "To BJP leadership - We are in Down South and we are the foundation of this nation and not your Up North Political leadership."

"When it comes to the interest of the people and State, all parties should speak in one voice irrespective of their political differences. To get a better deal for our respective states from the centre, all the south political parties should come under one common platform to fight against biased attitude of North Indian Leadership," he added.

Reacting to recent racial remarks of the BJP leader, Tarun Vijay, he said, "The demeaning racial remarks towards south Indians are a fine example of how North Indian elite, snobbish north Indian and political class view our "Dravida Bharatha" and its people."

Pawan Kalyan has announced that his party will fight 2019 assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh against the ruling BJP-TDP alliance.

Condemning TDP's silence during Special Category Status discussion in Parliament, he said "TDP does not have the right to compromise on the promised "Special Status" with Centre as people of Andhra Pradesh got TDP-BJP into power, trusting they would bring Special Category Status. I request TDP, do not mortgage the self-respect of people of Andhra Pradesh to Centre for your personal benefits."

After a massive victory in Uttar Pradesh and other state elections, BJP is now eyeing to gain their ground in southern states.

BJP's national general Secretary P Muralidhar Rao said, "BJP is emerging as a big political force in South India. The expansion is visible in all southern states."

Refuting all the allegations of the north-south divide, he added, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured both development and welfare of Andhra Pradesh. The state is getting super special status from Centre and all the attention. There is no question of north/south divide. The people of northeast also had insecurities, but today, people are accepting, and appreciating BJP leadership there."
