New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will on Saturday file a chargesheet in the murder of former Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) pracharak' (preacher) Sunil Joshi. Sadhvi Pragya Thakur is likely to be named as the key accused in the case.
The NIA believes that Joshi was murdered due to differences with his other associates who were all part of carrying out explosions between 2006 and 2008.
Sources had said that she had visited Sunil Joshi before his murder and had reportedly tired to destroy some evidence.
"The Madhya Pradesh Police had moved an application in the special MCOCA court here, and after taking the court's permission they placed Sadhvi under arrest in the Sunil Joshi murder case," Rohini Salian, Special Public Prosecutor, had said in Mumbai.
"It is just a formal arrest. She would be taken to MP after they make transportation arrangements," Pragya's lawyer advocate Ganesh Sovani had said.
The Madhya Pradesh Police had alleged that Joshi masterminded the blasts in Ajmer and Hyderbad's Mecca Masjid, and was later killed by his own associates on December 29, 2007 in Dewas (Madhya Pradesh).
Pragya was arrested by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad for being allgedly involved in the September 29, 2008 Malegaon bomb blast case in which five people were killed.
