New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may have sidelined veteran leader Yashwant Sinha, but the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi has reached out to him.
The party has roped in the former finance minister to help them with the Delhi budget. Sinha was approached by the Delhi Dialogue Commission for help with the budget.
According to sources, Yashwant Sinha has agreed to be present to help the AAP government on March 15. The Delhi Budget will be presented on March 28.
Reports said that the veteran BJP leader will interact with Finance Department officers and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.
The AAP government will table its annual budget on March 28 in the Delhi Assembly wherein priority is likely to be given to health and education.
According to a senior official, Delhi government is set to spend 25 per cent of the budget on education. It will also set aside funds for buying new buses.
Besides, the government will provide funds for 3,000 mohalla sabhas where locals will have a say in deciding civic projects in their areas.
