See you in court: Karunanidhi threatens to sue Vaiko
MDMK leader accuses Tamil Nadu CM of inciting attack on filmmaker.

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on Monday threatened to sue MDMK leader Vaiko and asked him to apologise in 24 hours for claiming that he had a hand in the attack on the office of a Tamil filmmaker.

Karunanidhi has sent a legal notice to Vaiko, calling upon him to tender an unconditional apology or face a defamation case. The legal notice alleged Vaiko deliberately made false accusations against Karunanidhi.

Vaiko, while addressing a public meeting here on May 29, had alleged that director Bharathiraja's office was ransacked at Karunanidhi’s behest because the film director had launched a campaign against the DMK government during the Lok Sabha Elections on the Sri Lankan Tamils issue.

The director had blamed the DMK government in the state and the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre for failing to protect the Lankan Tamils.

The police, which have filed complaint against Vaiko, claim the MDMK general secretary made disparaging remarks against the Chief Minister and incited violence.
