Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole’s car reportedly met with a terrible accident near Bhandara city while returning from poll campaigning. The Congress leader had a close shave as the car he was seated in was struck by a speeding truck.

The incident took place near Bhilwara village late on Tuesday. The car reportedly suffered significant damage, while others in his convoy narrowly escaped the tragic accident.

The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation, but initial reports suggest it may have been due to the truck losing control.

According to a report in Pune Pulse, Patole promptly alerted the authorities, and the police are now conducting further inquiries into the incident to ascertain the precise circumstances.

Patole recently hit the headlines over his “insensitive” remark, where he allegedly wished for the demise of BJP MP Sanjay Shamrao Dhotre during an election rally.

Patole made the statement during a public rally in Akola. The video of his remarks quickly went viral, drawing widespread condemnation.

Reacting sharply to Patole’s ‘insensitive’ comment, Fadnavis took to social media platform X to criticise him. He highlighted the contradiction between the Congress party’s manifesto release of its ‘Nyay Patra’ in Delhi and their state president, Nana Patole, making a wish for the death of a parliamentarian.

“On one hand, the Congress party releases its ‘Nyay Patra’ in Delhi, and on the other hand, their state president, Nana Patole, wish for the death of a parliamentarian during a rally? This insensitivity is a curse. Even if we are opponents in elections, wishing death upon them is not the culture of Maharashtra. Immediate apologies are demanded from the people of Maharashtra and Akola! May Shri Sanjay Dhotre Ji have a long life, this is my prayer to the Almighty,” Maharashtra Deputy CM wrote.
