In 2013, Jitu Patwari of INC won the seat by a margin of 18,559 votes (10.93%). Jitu Patwari secured 54.1% of the total votes polled.
BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly elections with a margin of 3,821 votes (3.8%), registering 49.39% of the total votes polled.
