Amritsar: Targeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, wife of deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal Harsimrat Kaur on Wednesday said that Punjab had high hopes from him, but the PM did nothing for the state. "The last time he was here in Amritsar, we thought he would promise something big for the city but he turned out to be a hollow man," the SAD Lok Sabha MP from Bathinda said while addressing a rally at Nangal Pannuan near Amritsar.
She also attacked the Congress, saying it was a party of royals who did not know the ground realities and that is why they were not aware of the bad impact its policies were having on the people who were facing high inflation.
"Corruption has taken a new form during the rule of the Congress-led UPA, where ministers and top shots are being put behind bars," she said.
People are fed up with the Punjab Congress leaders also, she claimed.
She said SAD-BJP government under Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had ushered in unprecedented development which was their poll plank.
Every time SAD-BJP brings development to the state, the Congress, which plays politics of divisions and appeasement, reverses the work done by it, she said.
Kaur was in Majitha to seek votes for her brother Bikram Singh Majithia, who is contesting elections from rural Majitha constituency.
