2.14 pm: Rajya Sabha adjourned till Thursday amidst noisy protests by Congress leaders.

2.10 pm: Congress and BJP workers clash with each other during protest by former against suspension of 25 Congress MPs by the Speaker.

2:00 pm: Rajya Sabha resumes, uproar in House, members stand in the well of the House and raise slogans.

1.28 pm: Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu: "If House functions smoothly, we will try and pass the land bill in this session itself". Sources say that after the joint committee (on land bill) meets on Monday for the final time and submits its report, the government may try and bring the bill in Parliament on August 13, the final day of the Monsoon session. Sources also say that there is a broad consensus on the bill now.

12.10 pm: Water cannons used to disperse Congress protesters outside Speaker's residence.

12.09 pm: Congress leaders continue to disrupt proceedings inside Lok Sabha over suspension of 25 MPs.

12.03 pm: Rajya Sabha adjourned amidst uproar by Opposition MPs.

11.22 am: Youth Congress members protest outside BJP Headquarters over MPs' suspension. Congress President Sonia Gandhi says, "Unaware of any government proposal (on suspension of MPs). Our dharna will continue."

11.21 am: The decision of suspension of Congress MPs should be reconsidered: BSP leader Mayawati.

11.20 am: Opposition members continue protest outside Parliament over suspension of 25 Congress MPs. "We respect the Speaker but she has sent us out here. So we are here," Rahul Gandhi says.

11.11 am: Rajya Sabha Chairperson agrees to start discussion on motions moved by the Opposition but the Opposition MPs continue to protest walking to the well of the House. House adjourned till 12 noon.

11.10 am: Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu says the government has rushed emergency medical and other relief personnel to the spot. "Darkness and water are creating hurdles in rescue operations but we have ordered all possible help. We are trying our best," he says.
