Zakir Khan is all ready to make his mark on television with a brand new show called Aapka Apna Zakir. The show will start airing this weekend on Sony Entertainment Television and promises to offer unparalleled entertainment. The comedy show has taken up the slot for the popular The Kapil Sharma Show on the channel. Now, comparisons are being drawn between the two shows helmed by the two leading comedians of the industry. However, Zakir Khan has refuted any similarities between his and Kapil Sharma’s show.
During an interview with TV9, Zakir was asked about the similarities that will arise now that his show has replaced Kapil Sharma’s long-running TV special. But the comedian stated, “I am not ok with the comparisons. He is a very big artiste, how can I compete with him.” He added, “Kapil is a pioneer of our work. When his shows became extremely successful, I benefited while sitting in Delhi as a small-time comedian. I benefited even later when I moved to Mumbai. In art form, even if one person does his job well, it benefits everyone.” Zakir Khan acknowledged that he respects Kapil Sharma and mentioned that he is proud that he is “from the house which lit up because of him.”
The brand new show Aapka Apna Zakir will mark Zakir Khan’s television debut. Shweta Tiwari, Rithvik Dhanjani, Gopal Datt and Paresh Ganatra would also be joining him on the show.
Meanwhile, the makers have released promos for the first episode of Aapka Apna Zakir with Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao as the guests. A recent promo begins with Zakir Khan making remarks about Shraddha’s knowledge of Indian spices. He says, “Naazon se pali, America mein padhi, kya hi bata paayegi masalon ke naam. Aaiye zara dekhte hain (Raised with care, educated in America, how can she tell the names of spices. Let’s see).” The actress effectively recognises Indian spices by their Hindi names, leaving everyone surprised.
Aapka Apna Zakir is a comedy chat show that will air fresh episodes every Saturday and Sunday at 9.30 PM on Sony TV. The show is expected to give a dose of comedy with Zakir Khan’s signature poetry.
