Modi flays critics, to fast for three days
The Gujarat Chief Minister has written an open letter to the people of Gujarat.

Ahmedabad: In an open letter to the people of Gujarat, Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday vowed to begin a fast this Saturday as part of a 'sadbhavna mission' movement for the prosperity and welfare of the state.

"As part of 'Sadbhavna Mission', I have resolved to fast for three days from, Saturday, the 17th September 2011," said Modi.

In his letter, Modi hits out at those who criticised him for the 2002 Gujarat riots over the past ten years, stating, "Their own credibility is at its lowest ebb".

"For the past ten years, it has become fashionable to defame me and the State of Gujarat," said Modi

"These elements who could not tolerate any positive development of Gujarat have not left any stone unturned to defame Gujarat," he said.
