Patna: The war of words have broken between the political parties ahead of Bihar Assembly elections. Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad hit back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said Bharatiya Janata Party stands for 'Bharat Jalao Party'.
Lalu said, "I never expected Prime Minister Narendra Modi will stoop so low. I am shocked that the PM called the RJD 'Rojana Jungle Raj ka Darr'. We all know that BJP is 'Bharat Jalao Party'. We all know what Modi has done in Gujarat. Modi is targeting us because he is intimidated by our strong presence."
The remarks came after Modi in a direct attack on Lalu's RJD said that party stood for "Rojana Jungle Raj ka Darr".
Addressing an election rally in Muzaffarpur district on Saturday, Modi took potshots at Lalu and narrated an incident where he was mistreated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. He said, "When I was invited for lunch by then Chief Minister, he took away my food. Lalu said he is having poison today but I had it on that day."
He made every attempt to woo the people and said that package for the state will be more than Rs 50,000 crore. "I can't speak much on the package as Parliament session is underway. I will announce the package after the session."
With just months away for the elections to the crucial state, no party is leaving any stone unturned and have channelised their energies to form the next government in the state. Modi appealed to the people to elect NDA government with a two third majority. "When the new government comes you'll climb greater heights," said Modi.
