Bangalore: Former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa has said that he will not participate in any of the official functions keeping sensitivity and protocol involved.
"My presence should not embarrass officials in terms of protocol. I will stay away from all government functions, except from those which are held in my native Assembly constituency of Shikaripura," he told reporters here on Saturday.
The former CM called on the seers of Siddaganga mutt and Adichunchanagiri mutt, Dr Shivakumara Swamiji and Dr Balagangadharanatha Swamiji respectively.
"I wanted to express my gratitude to these personalities for having guided me when I was the chief minister. I also requested them to continue to guide my successor DV Sadananda Gowda," Yeddyurappa added.
Yeddyurappa said the issue of ministry formation would be sorted out within a day or two, when the CM discusses the issue with party president KS Eshwarappa and other senior colleagues.
"There would be no problem," he said, adding, "All 121 MLAs and other party functionaries should extend unstinted cooperation to the chief minister." He expressed confidence that Gowda, by his affable nature, would take legislators and bureaucracy into confidence.
"I have seen him working as party president when he struck a balance between the pulls, pressures and compulsions of the workers besides extending cooperation to the coalition government."
