Hyderabad: The Center on Friday announced the terms of reference for the Justice Srikrishna Commission formed after agitations for and against creating a new state of Telangana.
The terms of the commission don't commit to a separate state leaving the TRS's K Chandrasekhar Rao upset and threaten a new wave of resignations by MLAs and MPs.
Soon after the Centre announced the terms of reference for the new Telangana committee, there were protests in Hyderabad.
Those who have been spearheading the movement for a separate Telangana felt betrayed with KCR saying that the committee should be discussing when Telangana will be formed and not whether it'll be formed.
He also does not want the panel to talk to those behind the rival United Andhra movement.
"It is a relentless fight. We will all resign and this time make sure our resignations are accepted by the Speaker," said KCR
The TRS is upset that the Centre has only asked the five-member Srikrishna panel to assess the mood in Andhra Pradesh on the separate Telangana demand and to hold consultations with political parties on how to resolve the dispute
Obviously the request has not been received well with the TRS threatening to revive its violent agitations and students of the Osmania University calling for a 24-hour bandh in the city.
For the K Rosaiah government the controversy has hit at a very wrong time, just when it is trying to convince IPL organisers that it is safe to hold matches in the state.
