Bangalore: Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa on Monday filed a bail petition, including an interim bail plea, in the Karnataka High Court.
The case is slated to be listed for hearing on Tuesday.
His lawyers filed the plea stating that charges against Yeddyurappa were just allegations and that nothing had been proved.
He further pointed that other co-accused had been granted conditional bail.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, meanwhile, is likely to stay in hospital for another 24 hours.
Yeddyurappa was arrested on Saturday and sent to judicial custody for seven days by a special Lokayukta court in connection with two cases of denotifying government land.
However, Yeddyurappa's stay in jail was cut short early on Saturday morning after he complained of chest pain.
The BJP, meanwhile, continues to back him, saying they will fight the case legally.
Yeddyurappa's successor Sadananda Gowda, along with his Cabinet ministers, also rushed to visit the former chief minister at the hospital.
