J&K polls: BJP, NC candidates file nomination papers from Doda
The BJP and National Conference candidates on Monday filed their nomination papers from Doda Assembly constituency for the upcoming polls in Jammu and Kashmir.

Jammu: The BJP and National Conference candidates on Monday filed their nomination papers from Doda Assembly constituency for the upcoming polls in Jammu and Kashmir.

BJP candidate Shakti Parihar today filed his nomination papers from Doda for the first phase of the Assembly polls, a party official said.

He was accompanied by Minister of State in the PMO Jitendra Singh, party MP from Hoshiarpur and in charge for Jammu and Kashmir Avinash Rai Khanna and BJP state president and MP from Jammu Jugal Kishore Sharma.

National Conference candidate and former minister Khalid Majid Sorwardi also filed his nomination papers, however, no senior leader of the party accompanied him to file the papers. Majid Wani, the Congress candidate and sitting MLA from Doda constituency, would file his nomination papers on Wednesday.

Meanwhile BJP candidate from Bhaderwah Assembly seat Dileep Parihar too filed his nomination papers on Monday.

In the first phase due on November 25, polls will be held in 15 Assembly segments spread across seven districts of Bandipora, Ganderbal in Kashmir Valley, Kargil, Leh of Ladakh region, Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban of Jammu region.
