Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party Chief Sharad Pawar on Monday said that his party's support for Bharatiya Janata Party in Maharashtra is still on the table.
While addressing a press conference Pawar said, "We made our stand clear. We want stability in Maharashtra. And so if this government is in a position where it falls short of a majority, the NCP will support it. We will not let the government be destabilized. We will not be part of the cabinet."
This comes after Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray announced his party would sit in the Opposition if the Bharatiya Janata Party took Nationalist Congress Party's support or did not resolve the deadlock in Maharashtra in the next few days.
Thackeray on Sunday had alleged that NCP supremo Sharad Pawar was instrumental in the fall of NDA government in 1996. "Unfortunately, the BJP is seeking support from same Sharad Pawar," he rued.
