Allahabad: Sharpening his attack on the Congress-led central government on the black money issue, yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Thursday termed Manmohan Singh "a helpless prime minister who is surrounded by corrupt people".
"There is a strong prime minister, and a helpless one," Ramdev said at a press conference in Allahabad.
"Though Manmohan Singh is personally very honest, he has been made helpless by the groups of corrupt people around him," the yoga guru said.
"If such a situation is allowed to prevail, it appears that the next session of the parliament would have to be convened at the Tihar Jail," he added.
Ramdev accused the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) of not taking any concrete steps to bring black money stashed away abroad.
He said a letter would shortly be sent to the prime minister, urging him to ensure concrete measures to bring back the money, check corruption and bring about transparency.
