Maharashtra Congress leader Nana Patole found himself amid a raging controversy after a video of him getting his feet washed by a party worker went viral.
The incident took place when the Maharashtra leader was in Vadgaon to attend an event. The video shows Patole’s feet covered in mud due to the muddy ground due to which he requested water to wash his feet.

This is when a party worker arrived with a mug of water and began to clean his feet, to which Patole did not object. Following the release of this video, the incident soon turned into a political row.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was quick to react to Patole’s viral video and draw a comparison between the Congress leaders and PM Narendra Modi.
“PM Modi ji upholds dignity by not allowing anyone to touch his feet, while #CONgress leader Nana Patole has Karyakartas wash his feet. The deep-seated slavery mindset in Congress starts with the Nehru-Gandhi family and pervades the entire party,” BJP leader Shanti Kumar wrote on X.
BJP leader Ram Kadam also compared Patole’s incident to that of PM Modi’s act of washing the feet of sanitation workers and asked why Congress wanted to suppress the poor and treat them like their slaves. Kadam also demanded an apology from the senior Congress leader.
Meanwhile, Patole issued a clarification and said the incident was blown out of proportion by the media. He said his feet got dirty as the ground was muddy and he just asked for water to clean himself when an attendant assisted him in the process.
