With elections underway in UP, Congress hits back at SP with allegations of illegal land allocation in the state.
New Delhi: With the political battle hotting up in the state of Uttar Pradesh, the Congress party has hit back at the Samajwadi Party with allegations of illegal land allocation.
Science and Technology Minister Kapil Sibal on Sunday accused Chief Minister Mulayam Singh of misusing power in the state.
He claimed land has been illegally allotted to party workers, judges, bureaucrats and even journalists.
“Valuable assets belonging to the state were sought to be parted with to individuals who were meant to favour particular individuals under different categories, extending political patronage, hopefully with the intent of the political party extending that benefit to get favours in return,” said Sibal.
