Ratia: Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday hailed the Union Cabinet's decision to allow 51 per cent FDI in multi-brand retail and 100 per cent FDI in single brand retail.
In a statement, Hooda described the decision as a progressive step and said that it would help consumers, farmers, retailers and the common man.
Meanwhile, speaking at a public meet in Ratia constituency, where by-election is to be held next week, he said the pace of development in the remaining three years of his government would be "accelerated".
He said that for last 28 years, people of Ratia had voted for non-Congress government. "Give us a chance for three years. I am going with a promise that maximum development would be ensured in three years as compared to last 28 years," he claimed.
Adampur and Ratia seats in Haryana go to polls on November 30.
