Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister and SAD patron Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday filed his nomination for Lambi Assembly seat in Punjab, which will go to polls on January 30, and declared his assets.
Badal has a total of Rs 5.74 crore worth movable and immovable properties. He has Rs 4.5 lakh cash and has given a loan without interest of Rs 76 lakh to his son and former chief minister Amarinder Singh.
Badal owns four houses in Lambi and Balasar in Rajasthan, and Sirsa in Haryana. He also owns a building given to a bank on rent in Kilianwali area in Punjab.
Meanwhile, Amarinder also filed his nomination for Patiala City assembly constituency and declared his family's income and assets totalling Rs 46.17 crore. He declared assets of Rs 1.97 crore in his individual capacity and Rs 42.21 crore worth joint property, including the New Moti Bagh Palace at Patiala worth Rs 35 crore.
Amarinder's total assets are worth Rs 44.40 crore. His total income for 2010-11 has been shown as Rs 21.13 lakh. His wife Preneet Kaur has assets worth Rs 1.55 crore and income for 2010-11 has been shown as Rs 2.17 lakh.
Amarinder has total Rs five lakh cash in hand and Rs 10.54 lakh kept in fixed deposits, whereas Preneet has Rs 1.50 lakh cash Rs 70.55 lakh fixed deposits. The former chief minister's investment in shares is at Rs 65.54 lakh and that of his wife is at Rs 4.33 lakh. Preneet has shown investments worth Rs 4.46 lakh. He and his wife have given Rs 1.43 crore and Rs 22 lakh respectively personal loans to others.
Amarinder has a Ford Endeavour which has a value of Rs 18.31 lakh, whereas Preneet owns an Innova worth Rs 10 lakh. Gold and silver jewellery owned by Amarinder is worth Rs 55.89 lakh, whereas that of his wife is worth Rs 30.18 lakh. Amarinder owns land worth Rs 41.15 crore. This includes a flat at Dubai. Preneet owns land at Haridwar in Uttarakhand.
The former CM owes Rs 51,982 as Income Tax dues and Preneet Rs 94.54 lakh. Both have contested this amount before the Income Tax authorities.
