New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) may be making its electoral debut from the Delhi polls but it has already shown ways to the veterans in the game. After AAP, the BJP too will release separate manifestos for the state constituencies. The party released its first local poll charter for Model town.
"Main manifesto can't talk about local problems; it'll only focus on larger issues," said BJP leader Vijay Goel.
"My area has a lot of local issues - there's no hospital, no sport complex for kids, my manifesto talk about all that," said Ashok Goel.
Candidate from Greater Kailsah Ajay Malhotra has promised scrapping of the controversial BRT while better sewerage plan tops the manifesto agenda of Malviya Nagar candidate Aarti Mehra.
"Candidates are making their manifesto, it depends on each one of them," said BJP's Chief Minister candidate Harsh Vardhan.
The AAP has accused the BJP of copying their innovative idea. "They have copied our step. We are glad that at least they are learning something from us," said Manish Sisodia.
The BJP had also sought public opinion on the issues its manifesto should address online. It has gone a step ahead and decided to make tailor made manifesto for each constituency to increase people's participation. Meanwhile, it would be interesting to watch that it actually translate in to votes ot not.
