New Delhi: DMK MP Kanimozhi is unlikely to get bail on Friday in 2G spectrum allocation scam case. The Delhi High Court, which is hearing Kanimozhi's bail application, may not pass an order on it on Friday.
The judge has suggested that he will not be guided solely by the Supreme Court's grant of bail to the 5 corporate executives earlier this week.
Justice VK Shali observed "Are you (the accused) trying to submit that because the SC has granted bail to 5 corporates, for every one else it's a walkover? And that the HC doesn't have to consider anything else?
The accused cannot cite the bail granted to 5 corporate executives by the Supreme Court to argue that everyone else can get a walkover in the case, the court said.
Former telecom secretary Sidharth Behura's lawyer Aman Lekhi protested against the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) decision to oppose Behura's bail and not oppose the bail pleas of Kanimozhi, Sharath Kumar, Karim Morani, Asif Balwa and Rajeev Agarwal.
Kanimozhi had sought an early listing of her bail hearing after the apex court granted bail to Unitech MD Sanjay Chandra, Swan's Vinod Goenka and 3 Reliance ADAG officials on Tuesday.
