Mumbai: As the country remembers the victims of the 26/11 terror attacks, politicians fight over who will inaugurate the statue of martyr Tukaram Ombale.
The memorial for 26/11 martyr Ombale has become the centre of a tug of war between the Congress and the Shiv Sena.
Ombale was the one who caught one of the terrorist Mohd Ajmal Amir Kasab alive before succumbing to gunshot wounds.
The Maharashtra Chief Minister's office had earlier said the decision over who would unveil the bust of Ombale at Girgaum Chowpatty would be taken by the Home ministry.
However, the Shiv Sena run BMC declared that the statue would be unveiled by working president Uddhav Thackeray.
The Chief Minister's office later clarified that the plan wasn't final and that Prithviraj Chavan would not be going to Girgaum Chowpatty, but instead visit the families of 26/11 victims at the Police Gymkhana
