'You Are India': Singapore Cab Driver's Racist Rant to Passenger During Argument Sparks Outrage
Singapore driver passes racist remarks on passenger during a heated conversation. Here is what he said that led to global outrage.

A video on Instagram shows an argument between a passenger and a TADA driver. The company provides driving services in Singapore. The video went viral immediately and caught the attention of people from all across the globe. In the video, the driver can be seen passing racist comments on the female passenger. The argument happened due to the address and wrong route.

In the video, the driver can be heard saying, “You are Indian.. I am Chinese, people know that you are Indian, I am Chinese, you are the very…worst customer.” Clarifying to the driver, the woman responded by saying, “I am Singapore Eurasian, not Indian. Regardless, there are Singaporean-Indians by the way… You are racist.” He could be further heard saying, “You are very illega.” He was also talking about the passenger’s daughter. “Your baby is less than 1.35m tall…You don’t argue with me, the metre is 1.35 only,” he said.

Instagram page ‘Wakeup Singapore’ uploaded the video on the social media handle. The caption read, “This is terrible. We hope the women’s daughter was not present in the vehicle to witness this outburst. Whatever the issue was, why was race even relevant?”

Since being uploaded, the video has gone viral and angered people on social media. “Uncle, you poured out whatever you kept under a closed lid all these years? why you ruin your bread and butter like this? “ commented an Instagram user. Another person wrote, “Worst thing is arguing while driving. Very dangerous on roads.”

The cab company has also responded to the video. It took to the comment section and wrote, “At TADA, we do not tolerate racism, discrimination, or abuse of any kind. Our team is investigating this issue. Thanks everyone who brought this to our attention.”
