Sonam Kapoor is often seen in the headlines. Sometimes it is because of the never ending nepo kid debate, and other times it is because she is drawing flak for some reason or the other. This time also the actress was being criticised for a statement that she made but an Indian physician came to her rescue. A video which has been doing rounds on social media features Sonam talking about how she did not give honey to her child for one year because it can cause a disease called botulism. Many deemed it as her ‘wokeism’ and slammed her.

“had an argument with Pandit ji for feeding Honey to newly born child because i don’t believe in these traditions”, like seriously ??? Wokeism at its peak!!” wrote ‘X’ user Moana while putting up the video. However, just when the video went viral a physician named Dr Joeyeeta came to her rescue and explained what Sonam is saying is true.
“There is a risk of infantile botulism if honey is fed to newborn children . She is actually right. It’s not wokeism,” wrote the doctor while resharing the clip. Have a look at the video:

Many agreed with the doctor and said that they did the same. “Even I didn’t allow my kid to be fed honey before she turned six months old,” wrote an ‘X’ user. Another person wrote, “Absolutely even our pediatrician asked us whether we feed honey because another Indian couple did so.”

This is not the first time that Sonam was trolled. Earlier, a video that went viral showed the actress performing at the IIFA awards. In the video, Sonam can be seen performing on ‘Sasural Genda Phool’ which is a song from her own movie ‘Delhi-6’. The movie also starred Abhishek Bachchan. ‘X’ user Vaibhav has uploaded the video on the micro blogging site with the caption, “5 year old me performing at school function.” Agreeing with Vaibhav, many criticised the actress.
