The BCAS further said that the step was taken as a precautionary measure in view of continuous threat messages shared by the central agencies regarding "threat to civil aviation installations over all India

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) has asked airport operators in Delhi and Punjab to stop issuing airport entry passes to visitors after Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun released a video threatening people of the Sikh community not to travel via Air India.

In the video, the chief of the banned outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), Pannun, while addressing people of the Sikh community, said their “lives would be in danger” if they chose to travel by the national carrier.

He also glorified the killers of former prime minister Indira Gandhi and demanded the name of Delhi’s IGI airport be changed to Beant Singh and Satwant Singh airport. “To break the backbone of India, we need to break the economy of the country,” he said.

On Monday, the BCAS released an official statement stating that the “issue of TAEP’s (temporary airport entry pass) entry of visitors to the terminal building of the IGI (Indira Gandhi International) airport (in Delhi) and sale of visitors entry tickets will be banned.”

The BCAS further said that the step was taken as a precautionary measure in view of continuous threat messages shared by the central agencies regarding “threat to civil aviation installations over all India like airports, airstrips, airfields, air force stations, helipads, flying schools and aviation training schools.”

A Delhi airport official told Hindustan Times that the BCAS order has been implemented. “We have implemented the order and all AEPs except for those involved in the operational work will remain suspended till November 30,” the official said.

On Sunday, top intelligence sources told CNN-News18 that India is raising security bars in the airlines and a threat analysis was sent to MEA.

“Punnun is openly threatening one nation sitting in these countries and no action is taken despite multiple requests. He has already attacked Indian HC in the UK and Canada,” sources said.
