The makers are now discussing the rest of the cast of the film.

Rani Mukerji will be seen on the big screen again soon in the next instalment of the Mardaani franchise, Mardaani 3. The actress recently confirmed the news, leaving her fans excited to watch her again in the action-packed franchise. In the Yash Raj Films produced franchise, Rani plays the role of the determined cop Shivani Shivaji Roy.

According to a report by Zoom, the film’s script has been locked and it is expected to go on floors soon. The report claims that the film’s script has been written by Gopi Puthrans over months and has now been green-lit by Rani’s husband Aditya Chopra. The makers are now discussing the rest of the cast of the film. The report also mentions that the shoot for Mardaani 3 will begin next year.

Earlier, Rani spoke about Mardaani 3 and said, “I, as an actor, always believe that we don’t want to do a film because it sounds good. We need to do a film when the script is good and when we want to make a film that makes a difference. With Mardaani 3, we can’t make a film if the story does not have that substance. It has to be something that people relate to today; the girls find it empowering. Only then we can do Mardaani 3. We can’t do it just because it sounds exciting. So I am hoping if they can crack a really good script, I would just like to get on with it.”

The Mardaani franchise has seen some stellar performances from Jisshu Sengupta, Komal Chhabria, Sunny Hinduja, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saanand Verma and Avneet Kaur among others. It will be interesting to see who will be roped in for Mardaani 3.

As for Rani Mukerji, she was last seen in the film Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway and her performance was appreciated by the audience and the critics alike.
