Riteish Deshmukh has taken on the role of an antagonist in Ajay Devgn and Vaani Kapoor’s Raid 2. Helmed by Rajkumar Gupta and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar, Raid 2 will feature Riteish Deshmukh in the negative lead role.
Known for delivering exceptional performances as a negative lead, Riteish Deshmukh will face off against Ajay Devgn on the silver screen for the first time, following their collaboration in hilarious comedy films.
Ajay Devgn recently took to his Instagram handle to welcome Riteish on the sets. Sharing the photo, he wrote, “Brothers by bond, rivals by choice! Welcome,” and tagged the actor.
The film started shooting in Mumbai last week and will be extensively filmed in Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
Earlier last week, the makers dropped the poster for the film, which featured a pair of legs sporting classy shoes. The text read, “Amay Patnaik is back.” It also revealed the release date of the film, i.e., November 15, 2024. The caption stated, ‘The wait is over! Ajay Devgn is back as IRS Officer Amay Patnaik in #Raid2, ready to bring another true case to the big screen on November November 2024!. IRS officer Amay Patnaik AKA Ajay Devgn is all set to get a new tip this time! So, are you ready to know whose house will be raided by him this time?”

Touted to be one of the most-awaited sequels, the film went on floors on 6th January in Mumbai and brought together director Rajkumar Gupta and producers Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar.
The first part of the movie was inspired by a real-life income-tax raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax Department under the Indian Revenue Service office in the 1980s. In the movie, Ajay plays an honest income tax officer who raids an influential man in Lucknow. The movie received positive reviews from critics and also turned out to be a box office success.
Raid 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Krishan Kumar. The film is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series and is a Panorama Studios production. The film will release theatrically on 15th November 2024.
