Actor Meera Chopra is the latest celebrity to get married this wedding season. The 40-year-old actor is going to marry her partner of three years. Her soon-to-be husband is a businessman. The couple will have their destination wedding in Jaipur. The dates are set to be March 11–12, 2024. Meera, who is the cousin of Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra, spoke to Instant Bollywood, about her forthcoming wedding. She said, “We have finalized the destination. I will share the details shortly as it’s too early. The wedding is in Rajasthan.” She added, “I want a classic, typical, Hindu wedding because that is the right way to do it.”
Meera now joins a long list of celebrities who chose Rajasthan as their wedding destination. Her cousin Priyanka Chopra married Nick Jonas at the famous Umaid Bhavan Palace in Jodhpur in December 2018. Actor Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani got married at the Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer last year. Before that, Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif got married at the Six Senses Fort Barwara, near Ranthambore, Rajasthan. It will be interesting to see where Meera chooses to tie her nuptial knot.
Meera Chopra has worked in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil films. She goes by her screen name Nila in the Tamil film industry. Her latest project is the Hindi drama film Safed, which was released on December 29, 2023, on ZEE5. Meera’s Tamil debut was with the 2005 film Anbe Aaruyire. Her second film and Telugu debut was Bangaram. She made her Bollywood debut much later in Vikram Bhatt’s 1920: London, with Sharman Joshi in 2016.
Despite being Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra’s cousin, Meera has maintained that she got little help from her sisters. Last year in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, she spoke about her distant relationship with her more famous cousins and said, “From the start, there was not much closeness between us that we would look like friends here. That would be fake. But I can say that when three or four girls join the industry, they help each other. That did not happen to me. I never asked for help and the help never came from them. I am not the one that asks for help and even they never offered any help.”
