Despite having notable projects like Uri, Kaafir, Shiddat, and Mrs. Serial Killer in his portfolio, Mohit Raina is still primarily known to his fans as Lord Shiva. He portrayed the Hindu deity in the television series Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev, which not only catapulted him to overnight stardom but also established a deep personal connection with his fans.
During an interview with Ranveer Allahabadi, Raina shared a heartwarming incident that made him realize the profound link he had become between his fans and the divine. He recounted how an elderly woman once approached him and out of respect, touched his feet. When he attempted to dissuade her, mentioning that she was of his grandmother’s generation, she insisted that he had no right to stop her from showing her respect.
Mohit recalled, “She said, ‘I am not touching your feet.’ You are just the medium for me to connect with my God. You cannot stop me from connecting spiritually to him in those few seconds. That was the day I gave in, realising that I was just a medium for them. I cannot keep them away from that connection”.
When discussing his beliefs regarding energies, Mohit Raina recounted an incident where he fainted during a show’s shoot. He shared that it occurred during a scene where his character had to shout loudly with his arms outstretched. Since he wasn’t supposed to make any noise for a wide shot, he mimed the shout by opening his mouth wide and his brain was deprived of oxygen. “At that moment, I stopped breathing and my brain did not get any oxygen. That duration passed the normal limit and I fell flat on the floor. I regained consciousness after a few seconds and realised what had happened,” he shared.
